“TRAVEL IS ABOUT THE GORGEOUS FEELING OF TEETERING IN THE UNKNOWN”
Nice is absolutely beautiful and full of equally beautiful people. The vibe and culture in South of France is completely different to what you might experience in Paris. Although the city is still busy with locals and fellow travelers, it is a lot more laid back than Paris and is the perfect place to visit for a weekend getaway by the beach.
Nice is the capital of the French Riviera and is renowned for its arty culture and delicious food.
Although there aren’t soft sandy beaches bordering Nice, you are able to hire a deck chair for the day at one of the 14 private beaches, enjoy cocktails and soak up the sun in style.
For a stunning view of the city, take a walk up to Castle Hill. It is a bit of a climb, especially in the heat, but you can’t beat the view! We had a lovely local man out for a run take us to the top, telling us about Nice on the way up (he wanted to practice his English), he was an absolute gem!
The shopping is also fantastic! There are loads of one-of-a-kind boutique stores to suit everyone’s style as well as other popular retail stores.
If you’d rather see more of the city, Nice has a great variety of museums, cathedrals, a botanic garden and zoo.
If you’re interested in learning more about the city, you can opt for a walking tour, bike tour, or even a segway tour if you want to experience something different.
Whilst there we also visited Monaco, an independent micro state of France’s coastline. Known for its flash casinos, yacht lined harbour and streets used in the Grand Prix. Monte Carlo is its major district, and the famous Monte Carlo Casino is worth a visit.
I’m more interested in visiting Nice, more than Paris. It seems less busy and more relaxed. These pictures are so beautiful 😄😄

We try to go to Nice at least once a year. I paint my furniture in provence colours and use inspiration from the old town of Nice.
