4 DAYS IN LAS VEGAS!

Las Vegas. Where do I even start? Many travel here to gamble and party but there is so much more to Vegas than boozing and blackjack. This 4 day itinerary shows off what Vegas has to offer and will make for an adventurous and memorable trip.IMAGE FROM FLICKR

DAY ONE:

Depending on what time you land in Vegas, and how far you’ve traveled to get here will determine what you do on your first day. If you only get time to do one thing today, be sure to grab a map and ensure you know where your hotel is on said map. Planning your next few days will be made incredibly easier if you know where you are in conjunction to everything else.

BUFFET DINNER

Vegas is very well known for its all-you-can eat buffet style restaurants so it seems only appropriate to fill your belly with some tasty food before embarking on your jam-packed adventure!

The best way to go about getting the most value for your money is to jump on websites like Groupon or TravelZoo to see if there are any buffet/restaurant coupons available. If not, it’s quite common for coupon books to be in hotel reception and casino’s – so keep your eyes peeled – it’s easier than you might think to save a few bucks in Vegas.

EXPLORE THE STRIP (AT NIGHT)

This is a good way to ease yourself into Vegas. I’m not much of a gambler, so I can definitely recommend wandering down the strip at night to see all the neon lights in action – it makes for some pretty incredible photos. Be sure to check out the famous Bellagio Fountain and scope out what shows are on during your stay and consider booking one for another evening. I do still recommend taking a peak inside a few casino’s, even if you have no interest in playing. Each have their own theme and are incredible in their own way – doesn’t cost you anything to have a sticky beak!IMAGE FROM FLICKR

DAY TWO:

DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS

After your first taste of the famous Vegas Strip last night, it’s time to check out Downtown Las Vegas. This is the central business district and historic center of Vegas. This was the original township before The Strip and it’s worth making the trip down to see where it all began! Fremont Street is worth checking out and grab a bite to eat at one of the many great restaurants on offer downtown.IMAGE FROM FLICKR

THE STRATOSPHERE

After checking out Downtown, hop on a bus for a 10 minute ride to the Stratosphere. For all the thrill-seekers out there, the Stratosphere has some awesome activities including the SkyJump – located on the 108th floor of the Tower.

There are also 3 thrill rides on the top of the Stratosphere that you must try. The Big Shot, Insanity and X-Scream are perfect for adrenaline junkies! There’s also an observation deck offering 360-degree views of the strip from the tallest observation tower in the US!IMAGE FROM FLICKR

SHOPPING -NORTH PREMIUM OUTLETS

Vegas is home to some of the best shopping in the world! With an abundance of shopping outlets as well as one of the lowest tax rates in the US, shopping up a storm in Vegas is definitely something worth putting on the itinerary. Since you’re already north of the strip, check out the North Premium Outlets and treat yo-self!

VEGAS SHOW

There is quite literally an endless amount of shows available to experience during your time in Vegas. Concerts, Tribute Shows, Production Shows, Comedy Shows, Magic and Hypnosis Shows plus other attractions – you could spend every night enjoying something completely different. If you’re not sure what you’d like to see, there are a great amount of cheap ticketing websites and offices in Vegas where you could pick up a cheap ticket and enjoy a great night out that won’t break the budget.IMAGE FROM FLICKR

DAY THREE:

GRAND CANYON

There are endless options on how you can choose to see and experience the Grand Canyon (depending on your budget and your interests). As I had never been and I didn’t have a great amount of time, I opted for a helicopter flight over the Canyon with an included lunch as well.

If I had more time, I would have loved to have done some hiking as well. If you need help choosing what you’d like to do, there are plenty of travel companies along the strip offering exclusive deals, otherwise jump online and see what’s on.IMAGE FROM FLICKR

‘WELCOME TO VEGAS’ SIGN

You know the one I’m talking about! No trip to Vegas is complete without the touristy  ‘Welcome to Vegas’ photo. To put it in perspective, the sign is located about 2.5 miles from Caesar’s Palace at the south end of The Strip. It is walk-able, though it might be just as easy to grab a cab or bus. Allow some time there as there is commonly a line, but there is usually someone there moving people along to keep the line moving.IMAGE FROM FLICKR

SHOPPING – SOUTH PREMIUM OUTLETS

If you didn’t have the time to check out the North Premium outlets yesterday, or you did and you want to check out what the south end has to offer, then jump on the bus and let the bargain buys continue. There’s also a great range of stores along Las Vegas Boulevard as well several shopping centers inside most casino’s on The Strip. SWIM & SPA

Depending on where you’re staying, you may already have the luxury of a spectacular pool and spa within a few steps of your hotel room, but if you want to check out what some other hotels have on offer, this is a great way to experience something different.

You may have noticed some specials advertised as you’ve been wandering the strip, but if not, jump online to see if there’s any deals, or just pick one spontaneously! Each are incredible in their own right, so you won’t be disappointed. DAY FOUR:

THE STRIP (DURING THE DAY)

Depending on when you’re scheduled to leave Vegas, a great way to finish off your time in Vegas is similar to how you started – wandering The Strip; but this time during the day. The Strip takes on a completely different character during the day and each hotel have their own attractions that set them a part from the others.

Why not have a ride on the Roller-coaster at New York, New York, take a Gondola Ride through the canals at the Venetian Hotel, see the view from the top of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Hotel, check out the Fountain Show at the Bellagio, or The Aquarium at Mandalay Bay?
