ABOUT ME

Welcome to Adventuress on the Run! My name is Cassie Fenton, a 25 year old from Sydney, Australia with a passion for adventure and a desire to see the world. I’m a nature enthusiast with a love for trail running and hiking; I adore exploring the great outdoors.

When I’m not gallivanting around the world, or getting lost in the mountains, I’m hitting the open road in my 1979 Volkswagen Kombi, Audrey. A large part of my wanting to travel the world stemmed from my dream to drive around Australia and I have since been restoring Audrey so that one day we can make the country-wide trip together.

I created AOTR to document my travels and adventures not just for my own recollection, but to also inspire others like me to get out there and not be afraid to chase their dreams. On my blog I share travel guides, tips, recommendations, book reviews and from my outdoor adventures in Australia. I currently work full-time in finance, but have plans to create an online platform where I am able to work remotely and still be able to travel often. I have dreams to one day have my own Bed & Breakfast to host like minded adventurer’s and share travel experiences.

If you’d like to get in touch, you can contact me here.

  1. You’ve certainly done a lot of travelling 😀
I hope to be as lucky as you one day.
You should check out NZ, there’s a lot of good hikes and trails down here 🙂

    1. I’d LOVE to visit NZ. It’s on my list!! Only a few hours from Sydney – I’ll make it there one day! Maybe on the way home from my gap year – would be a nice way to finish it off 🙂

Great about post, Cassie. I hope you can follow your dreams. One of our good friends has a bed and breakfast, and it’s gorgeous, but ties them down. I’d travel first, if I were you. Then when you are about 70, jump into the bed and breakfast business. 🙂 Thanks for visiting me. Traveling is one of my passions as well. I went to Australia for the first time this January to visit my blogger friends there. Such a great place. Makes your posts even more meaningful. I look forward to getting better acquainted in the future.

    1. Hi Marsha! Thank you for your lovely words 🙂 I have family who were in the hospitality business and you’re right, it does limit your travel, so I am spending the next few years traveling as often as I can whilst working remotely. Not that I can see myself being ‘traveled out’ I hope that by seeing so much I’ll feel more comfortable with the concept of building my business and staying put for a little while. I’m so glad you loved Australia! Happy and safe travels! Would love to stay connected 🙂

Did your family run an AirBnB or Bed and Breakfast or full on hotel? We have a cabana separate from our house, and it might be fun to rent it out, we are not ready to part with our privacy or our independence. Our friends love the rich variety of people they meet at their Bed and Breakfast. If you ever get this way, give me a holler, I’m sure I can set you up somewhere! 🙂 We are close to the Big Trees – Sequoia National Park & Yosemite. 🙂

      2. Hi Marsha, my uncle was in the hotel business. Not massive hotels by any means. Around 50 rooms. But they were always in quaint locations. Most were in the Blue Mountains in Sydney. Thank you so much Marsha! That sounds great. Hoping to get out that way next year so fingers crossed 🙂

    1. Me too! Lots of planning to be done. Will most likely have to do smaller trips to start, and then one day we’ll have our grand adventure!

  7. Love your story, Cassie! When I come across a new blog the first thing I do is read the About page… love hearing people’s stories and what inspires them. I saw several parallels between the objectives of my journey and yours… to inspire others to travel, to travel more and to reframe our contributions to society from traditional corporate job to something that more closely reflects our individual values and that will support our yearn to travel. Thanks for inspiring me and others! You are a Rockstar!
